COUNSELING
Jen De Prima provides a supportive, grounded space to help teens and adults navigate trauma, anxiety, and life transitions. As a clinical counselor and EMDRIA Certified Therapist, Jen offers a trauma-informed approach focused on helping clients heal past experiences, live more fully in the present, and feel empowered moving forward. Meaningful change can begin right away, with practical tools, coping skills, and greater clarity often starting in your very first session.
EMDR CONSULTATION
In addition to counseling, Jen provides EMDR consultation for clinicians in both individual and group settings. Her consultation style emphasizes ethical practice, fidelity to the standard EMDR protocol, appropriate use of advanced protocols, and building clinician confidence, particularly when working with complex trauma. Jen values ongoing learning and collaboration and supports clinicians in developing clarity, structure, and trust in their clinical decision-making.
SUPERVISOR
Jen is also a registered clinical supervisor and offers individual and dyadic supervision for professional counselors pursuing clinical licensure in the state of Idaho. She believes supervision should be a collaborative and supportive space to refine clinical skills, explore professional growth, offer private practice support, and navigate challenges ethically. Jen brings a balance of compassion and honesty to supervision, offering concrete resources while also helping clinicians identify blind spots and deepen self-awareness. Supervision with Jen is both personally and professionally enriching, grounded in ethical care and practical application.

EMDR Consultation
EMDR Individual Consultation -$125
A one-on-one 60-minute consultation to discuss EMDR cases, protocol questions, case conceptualization, and clinical decision-making. This option is ideal for clinicians completing consultation requirements, working toward EMDRIA certification, or seeking focused support for complex cases.
EMDR Group Consultation-$50
A 60-minute group consultation with up to four consultees. Each participant is designated approximately 15 minutes to present cases, ask questions, and receive guidance. Group members also benefit from observing and learning through shared clinical discussion and collaborative problem-solving.
Brief EMDR Consultation-$60
A focused 30-minute individual consultation for quick case questions, protocol clarification, or getting unstuck on specific clinical challenges. Ideal for clinicians who need concise support without a full-length session.
*Please note: A key distinction in EMDRIA policy is that consultation is not the same as clinical supervision. EMDR consultation focuses on the mastery and integration of standard EMDR therapy into clinical practice and does not involve the consultant holding liability for the clinician’s work. Clinical supervision is a formal licensure process in which the supervisor holds responsibility and liability for the clinician’s clinical work. As such, hours accrued for EMDRIA certification cannot be counted toward clinical supervision hours for licensure
Supervision
Telehealth or in person clinical supervision is offered for Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) in the state of Idaho. Supervision is grounded in evidence-based practices, ethical standards, and a collaborative, strengths-based approach with adherence to state licensing board requirements and the ethical codes relevant to counseling practice.
Jen’s supervisory style is supportive yet accountable. She strives to create a safe, respectful environment that encourages critical thinking and clinical growth while maintaining clear expectations for professional conduct and client welfare. Sessions can be individual or dyadic based as needs dictate; scheduling, frequency, and format are agreed upon in a supervision contract that outlines roles, confidentiality limits, and termination conditions.
Supervision addresses multicultural competence, boundary management, legal and ethical decision-making, and self-care strategies to mitigate burnout. We also focus on case conceptualization, clinical skill development, risk assessment and management, treatment planning, documentation, and professional identity formation. Sessions integrate reflective practice, feedback tailored to each supervisee’s developmental level, and concrete skills-building through modeling, role-play, and review of recorded sessions or case notes when appropriate.

What to Expect
Reaching out for help can be difficult. Life can feel unpredictable, like waves crashing in without warning-leaving you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. Therapy can help you learn to ride those waves instead of being swept away by them. Healing begins with increasing awareness of your emotions and learning to accept difficult feelings rather than suppressing, numbing, or trying to control them.
Initial sessions focus on building rapport, understanding your concerns, and collaboratively setting goals. Over time, Jen uses a blend of approaches to help you develop tools for emotional regulation, increase self-awareness, process difficult experiences, and take meaningful steps toward the life you want.
